Tell us about how you contribute to the success of Carrick Wealth as an organisation.
Having spent the last two decades in the financial services industry, I have gained vast experience. As such I developed a comprehensive financial services skillset working across various diverse roles for several large multinational financial services companies, both in South Africa and abroad.
The skills that I have acquired enable me to provide the best possible sound, practical and holistic financial advice to my clients, as well as to actively contribute to the collective sharing of knowledge and ideas within our larger Carrick team. This enables us to further enhance, develop and execute Carrick’s world-class client value proposition.
What is the best part about your job?
The best part of my job is being able to do something daily that I feel truly passionate about – which is, helping people. Within the scope of providing financial advice, this entails frequently meeting new and existing clients, each with their own unique set of financial needs, goals, and aspirations. I assist clients by adopting an inclusive approach through which I help them to identify, articulate and fully understand their holistic financial needs. This provides the best possible basis for developing a bespoke, holistic financial plan that provides clients with the best possible chance of successfully achieving their lifetime financial goals.
It is a privilege to consistently see how this process of mutual collaboration and building meaningful and long-lasting relationships, grounded in mutual respect and trust, translates into tangible and impactful financial outcomes for my clients over time.
Tell us about your personal and professional growth while working at Carrick.
I am the type of person who constantly challenges the status quo and continually strives for self-improvement each day. Underpinned by Carrick’s collaborative, innovative and entrepreneurial culture, being a part of the team at Carrick has provided me with a platform to share and exchange knowledge and ideas that has proved to be a powerful enabler for my own personal growth. This has led to consistently improving my current skillset and becoming a better, more knowledgeable, and well-rounded financial professional.
What is a typical day at work like for you?
I believe that succuss is the collective result of many single, good, productive days adding up. For this reason, I believe in two fundamental principles – start each day early and plan your day effectively. Starting early provides me with an opportunity to do what is important – exercise in my case – as well as allow me some time to reflect and to re-focus on what is important to me personally.
Creating a structured daily plan ensures that you can strike the right balance between addressing the important matters such as meeting with clients, attending to client needs timeously, making time for interacting with colleagues, catching up on current affairs, getting around to administrative tasks, and to also make time for some fun!
We are always looking for driven people to join our growing team.
