Tell us about how you contribute to the success of Carrick Wealth as an organisation.
As an International Property Investment Sales Specialist, I create brand awareness in terms of the alternative property investment product offering. I assist the team by adding a top–rated client value proposition by offering portfolio diversification through investing in high-end international residential property. I focus on leveraging off my broad–based network spanning c-suite corporate executives and long-standing relationships with domestic asset and fund managers. I strive to transfer my skill set to other aspirant Financial Advisors and contribute to the building of the Carrick brand and reputation. I enjoy being Carrick’s point man in Sandton and, given the group’s ambitious growth expectations, I aim to deliver and rise to this challenge. We are all in this together; let’s do it! What is the best part about your job?
The best thing about my job is starting each day with a clean canvas, coming up with creative investment ideas and product solutions, and presenting these to the investment professionals that I call my clients. I enjoy meeting the ongoing demand by the ever-growing number of new clients and being able to connect with them professionally and socially. I am an out–of–the–box thinker, therefore a conversation with me must almost always be constructive – help me to help you goes a long way in building a seamless team. Adding value to a client and enjoying seeing them being satisfied, is all a salesperson wants.
Tell us about your personal and professional growth while working at Carrick.
I have hit the ground running at Carrick in my new role and have received great support providing me with the building blocks to achieve and exceed our new Property Division’s aspirations. This encompasses being the international property reference point, the “go to guys” for international residential property investments, not only in South Africa but across our expanded African footprint.
What is a typical day at work like for you?
I take a holistic approach to what is happening around me and in the financial markets. I plan every day with a definitive outcome in mind and work not only to achieve that outcome but to exceed it. In scuba diving, we have a saying, “plan your dive, dive your plan”. So, for me in my work, I “plan your work, work your plan”. I believe in that one should always be listening, because then you will always be closing!
